"The Dreamer from Kaluga" 55x75cm $5000

Anastasiia Prosochkina

55х75 cm, acrylic on canvas

Everything starts with a dream. There was a man in Kaluga, odd man with the biggest ideas carried in his heart and mind. This man, who was laughed at, as it often happens with those, who looked way beyond their time, lived in a tiny house in the middle of the nowhere, in a small Russian town called Kaluga, surrounded by the forest. His name was Konstantin Tsiolkovsky, and he was the greatest dreamer of his time.

Late at night, when all sounds evaporated to the sky full of stars, only his window was touched with the oil lamp light while he was passionately scribbling in his writing-book. His hand-drawn scheme of the first spacecraft is in the middle of the painting and the result of his dreams, a real Soyuz spacecraft is above.

This painting is the most precious from all the collection. It’s the first painting I made in the space theme, the most mysterious, the most romantic one. People often write to me about buying it, but I am not sure I am ready to sell it. Now it travels from the exhibition to exhibition. Write to me and I’ll think about it.
